Race for the Roses
Employees with Clackamas-headquartered Jack Howk SM/Rescue Rooter® of Portland participated in Albertina Kerr’s Race for the Roses over the weekend. All net proceeds from the race benefited Albertina Kerr, a nonprofit that has been serving children, adults, and families in Oregon living with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges for more than 100 years. Headquartered in Clackamas, Rescue Rooter / Jack Howk has been serving the greater Portland-Vancouver area’s plumbing and drain needs for more than 70 years.
In the Summer of 2015, Rescue Rooter / Jack Howk launched its first-ever food drive for the Sunshine Division — a local charity that has partnered with the Portland Police Bureau for over 91 years. We collected non-perishable food items from the community and our customers in order to donate to Portland families in need. With schools closing for the summer, children in need often don’t know where their next meal will come from, which is why we have launched a food drive when they most need it.
American Red Cross
Rescue Rooter / Jack Howk has been supporting the American Red Cross by holding blood drives since September 2014. This is a worthy cause that we continuously support through quarterly events. Participation has increased dramatically since we started. We even got the community and local business involved. Click here for more information.
