Exceptional Work with Exceptional Compadres

It’s been a very busy summer for us here at Jack Howk℠/Rescue Rooter®! From coordinating a food drive for the Sunshine Division to planning an American Red Cross blood drive right in our own parking lot, we’ve been juggling a full schedule of servicing customers and helping out our community. Despite the many projects going on this summer, our team always has a good time with each other, whether it’s working side-by-side in the field or spending time together outside of the office!

Company Rafting Trip

Last month a group of employees set aside time for a little extra fun with a white water rafting trip down the Deschutes River. The Jack Howk/Rescue Rooter team grabbed their life jackets and paddles to embark on an adventure through the rapids, and oh was it an adventure. Two rafts full of plumbers and staff, a flipped raft, and zero dry employees made for a trip full of priceless memories and bonding experiences.

After Donating Blood to the American Red Cross

After donating blood to the American Red Cross, our staff has a little fun taking silly pictures in front of the donation trailer.

The team also came together to give blood right in our own parking lot during the American Red Cross blood drive spearheaded by Joyce, aka Mama Joyce. On a quarterly basis, we invite the public, our customers and neighboring companies to partake in the event. This July members of our team, including fleet manager Christopher Schilling (pictured below), joined in the effort to collect a total of 250 pints of blood by donating to the cause. Before the blood drive we fueled up with delicious breakfast dishes, including Barbara’s yummy Mexican breakfast casserole and Steven’s famous breakfast burritos.

One of our largest projects this summer has been the food drive we coordinated for the Sunshine Division. All summer we have been working on placing barrels for this small, local food bank around town to collect canned goods as part of the food drive. On a recent Saturday the team came together to volunteer at the Sunshine Division for a day of bonding and charitable fun.

While volunteering, our staff went above and beyond by cleaning and organizing 172 food barrels and washing 2 large delivery trucks. I’m used to seeing the exceptional service our employees provide their customers everyday at work, so this can-do attitude outside of the office was no surprise!

Last month we hand delivered the food drive barrels to the Sunshine Division before getting busy volunteering at the local food bank.

All in all, it’s been a busy summer full of rewarding experiences. The team has put their best foot forward in every project from community service to customer service. We are so proud of everything we’ve been able to accomplish in just a few short months, including one of the largest and most successful first year efforts the Sunshine Division has ever seen — in terms of amount of food raised — from a company with just one office location.

But doing great work is easy with a team that enjoys being around each other as much as ours.
